Randall Kaminsky

CEO

Randall has an extensive background in the planning, fielding and management of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), and Antiterrorism Force Protection (ATFP) technologies deployed to difficult to support and challenging environments abroad. Randall has developed plans and policies for the forward integration of technologies designed to protect critical infrastructure in support of expeditionary and ongoing contingency operations for the U.S. Government, the United Nations, and Host Nation partners. Randall provides leadership and management oversight to USS, LLC teams managing the deployment, integration, training and logistical sustainment of defense technologies worldwide. 

Prior to USS, LLC Randall held key management roles with L3 Communications Security and Detection Systems and American Science & Engineering managing security detection programs which encompassed all facets of technology fielding and support for technologies integrated into seaports, airports, land border crossings and secure facilities in direct support of DoD/DHS and Host Nation customers in Latin America, Europe and Asia. 

Randall is a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Army retiring in 1999. Randall’s military career was dedicated to the global employment of tactical and strategic communications technologies in support of U.S. and Partner Nations abroad. His military background consists of assignments in both Conventional and Special Operations units including multiple Special Forces Groups where he served as a Foreign Military Advisor in Latin America and Asia as well as technical advisor for research and development of Special Access Programs.

Randall holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the State of New York and a Master’s Degree in Security Administration from Webster University, Saint Louis MO. Randall is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute’s Foreign Language Center and has attended a wide spectrum of Special Forces career enhancement training and formalized courses. Randall is a life member of the Special Forces Association.

Michael Thompson

COO

Michael has more than 35 years experience with several well known security technology, detection system, and scientific instrument manufacturers. His roles have included senior management, field service management, product/program management, engineering, and business development.  Michael provides business leadership, financial oversight and compliance for all company operations.

Prior to USS, LLC, Michael was a Vice President for several weapon and explosive detection system manufacturers including L3 Communications, Perkin Elmer Detection Systems, and Metorex Security Products. Michael also served as a Director of Sales for X-Ray Security Screening System manufacturer Vivid Technologies, and as a hardware design engineer for the Electro-Protective Corporation developing detection technologies, controls, and sensors. Michael was responsible for Product/Program Management while with the Princeton Gamma-Tech Corporation in Princeton, NJ, a manufacturer of Gamma-Ray spectrometers, spectrum analyzers, X-Ray flourescent, and X-Ray diffraction test and measurement instruments. Michael has served as an independent security technology consultant for the U.S. Government, several Host Nation Governments, the United Nations, and U.S. Defense Contractors. In addition, Michael has significant experience advising on security technologies for specific applications and deploying detection devices and systems throughout SWA, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronic Engineering and has authored or co-authored several internationally recognized ASTM/ANSI/ISO standards on security technology products and testing procedures. Michael served in the U.S. Marine Corps Infantry in the 1970’s.

Roberto Montoya

President

Roberto is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel with a long and successful career in the Armor Branch.  After his retirement from the U.S. Army, Roberto went on to provide leadership for a number of Defense Industry organizations, including USS, LLC.   Roberto has led contract execution supporting the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, the U.S. Army Evaluation Center, Defense Systems Information Agency, Department of Homeland Security, University of Syracuse, and private commercial organizations.

Roberto’s experience testing and evaluating systems and technologies supported by USS, LLC cover a wide spectrum and include:  Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A), Trojan Spirit, ACS RISTA, Defense Travel System, Battlefield Command and Control System, Global Command and Control System-Army (GCCS-A), Exploratory Data for Chemical and Biological Systems, Army Battle Command Systems, Advanced Warfighting Experiments, and many others.  Responsibilities included: budget management, supervision of MANPRINT, system effectiveness and suitability analysis, software efforts, support of interoperability issues, developmental and operational analysis, and final reporting and briefing of findings and recommendations.

Roberto holds an M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, an M.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Kansas, an M.M.A.S. in Military Arts and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS and a B.A. in Business Management from Texas A&I University.  Roberto belongs to a number of professional affiliations to include: The International Test and Evaluation Association, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, the American Society for Quality Control, the Armor Association (Regiment: 10th Cavalry), and the Wireless Grids Innovation Test Bed.
